Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Operation of Vehicle:
- Drive long-distance routes to deliver goods to various destinations in a safe and timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving.
- Cargo Handling and Delivery:
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify cargo and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Deliver goods to destinations according to delivery schedules and client requirements.
- Route Planning and Navigation:
- Plan and follow efficient routes, considering factors such as road conditions, weather, and traffic.
- Utilize GPS systems, maps, and other navigation tools to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Complete and submit required paperwork, including delivery receipts, inspection reports, and logs.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or delays to supervisors or dispatch.
- Customer Service:
- Provide professional and courteous service to clients and customers during deliveries.
- Address any client concerns or issues related to deliveries in a prompt and professional manner.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and ensure the safe storage of cargo.
- Maintenance and Care:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and engine performance.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
