Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, following recipes and ensuring consistency.
- Handle and store food ingredients in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Menu Planning:
- Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager to plan menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Contribute ideas for new dishes and improvements to existing ones.
- Cooking Techniques:
- Utilize various cooking methods, such as grilling, baking, frying, and sautéing, to achieve optimal flavor and presentation.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to perfection.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect and taste dishes to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Address any issues with taste, texture, or appearance.
- Kitchen Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
- Assist in inventory management and order supplies as needed.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, including sous chefs and kitchen assistants, to coordinate cooking activities.
- Communicate effectively with servers and other restaurant staff.
- Adherence to Health and Safety Standards:
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment.

- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
