Work setting

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Preparation and Cleanup:
   • Prepare construction sites by setting up equipment, tools, and materials.
   • Clean and clear work areas, including removing debris and hazardous materials.
   • Assist in setting up temporary structures such as scaffolding and barriers.
2. Material Handling:
   • Transport and distribute materials and tools to and from job sites.
   • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
   • Assist with inventory management and storage of construction materials.
3. Assisting Skilled Tradespeople:
   • Support carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople as needed.
   • Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials under the direction of skilled workers.
   • Perform basic tasks such as mixing concrete or mortar, operating small tools, and setting up equipment.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
   • Report safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
   • Adhere to site-specific safety regulations and construction codes.
5. General Labor Tasks:
   • Dig trenches, carry materials, and perform other manual labor tasks as required.
   • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
   • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized job site.
6. Communication and Reporting:
   • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
   • Report any issues or concerns related to the work site, equipment, or materials to supervisors.

Tasks

• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in construction or general labor is beneficial but not required.

  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
